As part of the NZ Aerospace Challenge 2019, NIWA plans to develop an approach to combine data from satellite and airborne sensors to identify agricultural pollution sources and pathways, and present the resulting information in a way that will provide fast mitigation or remediation on the ground.

Our team is made up of scientists who specialise in hydrology, remote sensing, GIS and UAV technology.

Needs

  • API and data portal tools that might assist and optimise data integration and subsequent development.
  • Partnerships with commercial drone and sensor specialists to assist in local scale data collection.
